Yoga Near Hanson, MA

If you've been meaning to try yoga for a while and something keeps stopping you, you're in good company. Most of our students walked in the first time sure they'd be the least flexible person in the room. (They weren't, and neither will you be.) Emerald Yoga Studio is about 13 minutes from Hanson, and since 2010 we've worked hard to make this a place where that worry fades by the end of your first class.

About us and where to start

Every class here has a gem rating, from one gem (gentle) to three (the ones that will make you sweat). If you're new, start with a one-gem class and move up whenever you're ready. These are the classes we'd point a first-timer from Hanson toward:

  • Yoga Basics: the foundational poses, the words you'll hear, and how to use props, taught slowly with plenty of options. It runs six times a week, including Saturday mornings.

  • Soulful Slow Flow: a gentle, slower flow with breathwork. Great if you're new or coming back after an illness or injury.

  • Chair Yoga: a supportive practice with a chair as your base, so there's no getting down to the floor. Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:30 a.m., and just $5 a class.

  • Restorative Yin: quiet, supported stretching that helps you unwind.
